Welcome to our Self-studying area on Resilient Energy Systems. Here you will find a short introduction to the topics to be presented in the Resilient Energy Systems workshop, lecture and seminar at the University of Oldenburg, organized by the Postgraduate Programmes Renewable Energy team. The self study resources present a short introduction to the core topics. The materials consist on a little bit of text, figures and short videos from lectures given in the Winter Semester 21/22.
Learning outcomes
- Understand different conceptional approaches of resilience and bring them to the context of Renewable Energy Systems.
- Understand interdisciplinary dependences and concepts required to design Resilient Renewable Energy Systems:
- address technical
- and non technical dimensions of resilience assessment (Social, Ecological…)
- Get to know different methods for assessing/quantifying the concept of resilience for Renewable Energy Systems design.
- Look at the role and sources of transformability and adaptability of energy systems.
- Reflect on the strengths, weaknesses and flaws of the resilience concept for energy systems analysis.
Making the link: people and resilience
The lecture Resilient Energy Systems is linked to a Case Study Seminar, in which the introduced approaches are applied to a Mini-Grid System in San Rafael, Colombia. In this blog, you can find out more about the Resilient Energy System for the community of San Rafael (Colombia) .
